Three new entries have been recently added to the ENC Classroom Calendar. All three offer ideas for incorporating activities related to other subjects, such as history and literature, into your math and science classes. You may want to plan some lessons for next fall around these three entries:
Rube Goldberg (Grades 5-12) on the July page;
Yellow Fever: Linking Science and History (Grades 6-12), on the August page; and
Tunguska, Canyonlands, and Barringer Crater -- National Meteor Day (Grades 6-12), on the June page.
Classroom Calendar doesn't shut down for summer break. New entries will be added and some entries will be updated. All entries contain direct links to carefully chosen Internet sources and many are correlated to national science and mathematics standards.

The June Digital Dozen Classics were picked with summer fun in mind. For example, takes web visitors into the deep dark recesses of infinite space; affords hours of playing the electronic version of the age-old game of stones and strategies; and will keep math skills honed. There are more web sites in the June edition and hundreds more in the Digital Dozen Archive. You may want to recommend some to your students.
