1. What does ENC do for teachers?
   

   ENC provides a wealth of information for K-12 math and science teachers on this web site. Among the many resources you will find here, we recommend...

   • Curriculum Resources--a catalog of information about more than 22,000 K-12 math and science curriculum materials, many with teacher comments and evaluations.
   • Digital Dozen--a monthly selection of twelve of the best Internet sites for math and science education.
   • Classroom Calendar--a month-by-month calendar full of online resources and lesson suggestions.
   • ENC Focus--a magazine for classroom teachers with articles on a wide range of topics, many written by classroom teachers and linked to discussion forums.
   • Lessons & Activities--links to lessons for math and science on the Internet.
   • By Your Own Design--a guide to creating your own personal professional development plan, with a wealth of resources to help you.

3. How can I find web sites for a specific subject area?
   

   There are two ways to use ENC to locate web sites. The Curriculum Resources area of ENC Online provides access to a huge collection of math and science teaching materials. From simple search, select "web sites" from the resource type pull-down menu. From advanced search, select "Internet Resource" from the media type list.

   Another way to locate web sites is to visit the extensive Web Links area of ENC Online. Once there, you may browse for sites by math or science terms or by type of site--sites are divided into several categories and subcategories because ENC provides links to so many web resources.

4. Where can I find information about state frameworks and national standards?
   

   ENC has made a special effort to provide a complete a collection of state and national frameworks. Many documents are available in full text. In the Standards & Frameworks section, you will find national and state standards, links to state departments of education, and related resources.

5. Where can I find evaluative information about published standardized tests?
   

   ENC suggests two resources that review published tests: Mental Measurements Yearbook and Tests in Print. These texts provide information about major tests, including evaluations and contact information for the publishers. These resources are considered standard references in any university or college that has an education or psychology department and may be available in large public libraries as well. Buros, the publisher of both resources, provides web access to the published descriptions and reviews for a fee. See for more information and a list of tests.

7. Can you help me find grants information?
   

   While we cannot research individual grants, the Funding Opportunities area of ENC Online offers links to valuable grant-seeking resources online. Visit Funding Opportunities to find

   • web sites helpful at various stages of grant seeking, from setting goals to writing proposals.
   • the Guidebook of Federal Resources, ENC's online directory of federally sponsored programs in math and science. Programs from 16 agencies and departments are highlighted.
   • web sites linking to foundations, organizations, agencies, and corporations that provide grants, many of them targeted to education.

   For a comprehensive search, print sources will provide the best information--ask a public librarian for assistance.
