Abstract: This serial periodical is published for geology teachers by the National Association of Geology Teachers (NAGT) to foster cooperation among the teachers of the earth sciences and to promote high standards of instruction in the field. Articles discuss geology content and teaching methods for grade K to 12 and undergraduate students, as well as for teacher education. Topics include collaborative learning and assessment strategies, field studies, tips for teaching large classes and seminar courses, laboratory techniques and exercises, and student research projects. Regular features provide information about museums and funding opportunities; strategies for precollege teachers; and review educational resources such as books, videos, and software. (Author/LCT) |
