Abstract: This web site offers a series of calculus tutorials done with Flash animation. The tutorials are organized like lessons in chapters of a calculus textbook. The animations have a voice-over by the author accompanying the graphs and equations. There is a blend of common-sense approaches and mathematical rigor in the language of the tutorials; they are written for calculus students but aim at presenting topics in an accessible way. For example, in the discussion of limits, the author uses graphical examples and demonstrations, but also teaches how to evaluate limits rigorously. Some sections of the site are still under development. Abstracted 10/02. (Author/FAM) |
