Abstract: This Internet site, developed for students and teachers of grade 6 and beyond, is designed to help students learn math and overcome anxiety about mathematics by providing step-by-step solutions for real homework problems from popular math textbooks. The site, created by high school teachers and college professors, aims to provide affordable tutorial help for students on a 24-hour basis. It is based on research findings that suggest students' math skills improve through guided examples of actual math problems. The solutions are offered for odd-numbered problems from math texts covering subjects such as algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus. In addition, the website includes free sample solutions from several texts and links to related resources. Contact information is provided, along with online registration forms for schools, teachers, parents, and students. Abstracted 11/03. (Author/JHH) |
